The Juniata County Dairy Promotion Committee is seeking members to serve on the 2022-2023 Juniata County Dairy Princess Court. Qualified young women and men engage in a year of service through the Dairy Promotion Program on behalf of Juniata County’s dairy industry. In the state of Pennsylvania, approximately 300 youth with dairy industry connections publicly represent dairy foods and farmers while learning career and communication skills through promotion events and training at the county and state level. Serving as a diary promoter is an honor and an education – equally beneficial to the individual, the industry and the dairy consumer.
Candidates must be a resident of Juniata County, connected somehow to the dairy industry and have a desire to promote the industry. A Princess candidate must be at least 16 years of age by July 1 and not reach her 24th birthday by December 31. She must be single, never married, have no children and must not marry or become pregnant during her reign. The Juniata County Dairy Promotion Committee is also seeking junior representatives who should be between the ages of 4 and 16. Deadline for submitting applications is May 1, 2022.
The crowning of the 2022-2023 Juniata County Dairy Princess will take place at the Walker Grange, Mexico, PA , on May 22, 1:30 PM. The committee is also seeking interested people to serve on the Juniata County Dairy Promotion Committee to lend support and help with the planning of promotions. The Juniata County Dairy Promotion was formed in 1976 to promote the sale and consumption of milk and dairy products in the county of Juniata, state of Pennsylvania. This is accomplished through:
1. An annual selection of a royalty court which may consist of a Dairy Princess, Alternate Dairy Princess, Ambassadors, Dairy Maids, Misses and Li'l Misses.
2. School visits where presentations teach the importance dairy farmers, of getting 3 every day of dairy and explains about the 9 essential nutrients found in dairy products.
3. Handing out dairy samples, brochures, recipes and promotional items at stores, banks, restaurants and other retail events.
4. Participating in parades and other special events.
5. Speaking on the importance of the dairy farmer and dairy products at farm meetings and other civic organizations' meetings.
6. Having a promotion booth at the county fair and other carnivals, handing out dairy samples, brochures, recipes and promotion
materials.
